This is what we have been waiting for

We finally got a chance to go and have a traditional Guatemalan meal. The Patlan's know a lady in Solola that is willing to cook traditional meals for their teams that come in. So we took a tuk-tuk to her house. We got to learn how to make tortilla's, see how most Guatemalan's live and eat a delicious homemade meal!

A traditional Guatemalan yard... no grass

The whole family will sleep in this one room together, in order to stay warm.

This house is considered upperclass because it doesn't have dirt floors

This is a typical kitchen. A fire on the floor is where they prepare their meals.

"But me and my house will serve the Lord"

Our meal: a cup of broth, rice, fried chicken, tortillas, and bananas for dessert!
